Erika is the Founder and CEO of WiserWay Media, a marketing and creative services company for entrepreneurial, nonprofit, and membership-based organizations, brands and businesses, providing marketing services in the following areas: photo and video production, digital media, print and graphics, web and mobile development, and online brand and product launches.

Erika Wise is also the Marketing Business Advisor for the San Diego Small Business Development Center (SBDC) with the responsibility of providing aspiring and current small business owners free business and marketing consulting, including facilitating the following training workshops: Email and Content Marketing Strategies, 10 Marketing Strategies for Business Growth, How to Create a Free Website and E-Commerce: How to Sell Online. At the SBDC, she also hosts business networking events for organizations in the city and is the Business Liaison for Logan Heights Community Development Center. Erika also teaches a business course at the San Diego City College once a quarter.

Prior to joining SBDC, Erika worked in strategic business development and marketing at several companies, including civil engineering, commercial construction, medical, non-profit religious organizations and churches where she developed community partnerships, designed and managed innovative programs, developed promotional media and material, and worked on brand re-development and communication execution.


Notable is her tenure as Marketing Coordinator at Swinerton Builders in the Solar Renewable Energy division where she lead the marketing efforts and worked in conjunction with a team of engineers and estimators to win the company’s largest solar and construction project in its 125-year history, totally $500 Million! Among this project, Erika used her marketing expertise to aid in the winning of multiple construction and solar projects with profits of approximately $100 million.

Erika Wise graduated from the University of Florida in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and minor in African American Studies. Erika also has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Media Design from Full Sail University, and is currently enrolled at Bethel University as a master/doctoral student.

In addition to her professional work, Erika developed and runs a community publication called, “ReClaim,” a quarterly, faith-based lifestyle print and digital magazine. As Editor-in-Chief, Staff Writer and Graphic Designer, Erika created this publication as a marketing tool for the ReClaim Community Initiative commenced by Terry Wayne Brooks, Senior Pastor of Bayview Church, the largest black church in San Diego, that arose in the wake of the rising racial tension in our country. With this publication, Erika oversees sales, marketing, technology, and operations and gives direction on editorial and creative content for a team of 20+ writers, editors, photographers and designers.

Erika is an active community member. She is a member of the University of Florida Black Alumni Association and sits on the National Board as the Vice President of Communications where is working to re-brand the organization in efforts to improve organizational perception and increase membership dues and activity.

Erika has also worked with the non-profit, summer liberal arts organization, iChooseLife Youth Development Program, as a Graphic Design Instructor, teaching design and layout, color and composition, and form and typography while utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite software program.

Erika’s greatest strengths are her passion, creativity, drive and leadership. She thrives on challenges and loves working with people and on campaigns that work for a cause. Helping businesses and organizations deliver a high ROI by leveraging “wise” marketing methods is one of her greatest desires in business.
